The Lab of the Future is Inclusive

Blurring the line between Work, Research and Focus

Los Angeles has become a significant hub for scientific advancements, competing with traditional centers like La Jolla and San Diego. The city's cultural diversity and innovative mindset attract life science research and manufacturing. The 56,000-square-foot Armata Pharmaceuticals facility, located by Ballona Creek, showcases L.A.'s blend of history and natural beauty with its midcentury modern design. The building merges workplace and research spaces, promoting constant collaboration through its transparent, open design.

Emphasizing teamwork, the facility features a symbolic portal connecting workstations and labs, symbolizing the progression of biological research. The two-floor layout includes integrated labs, private offices, and breakout areas, fostering a relaxed, research-focused environment. People-centered amenities like lounges, breakout rooms, and flexible spaces enhance collaborative efforts. Additionally, a state-of-the-art kitchen and café provide a dual purpose: offering a break from work and serving as venues for internal meetings.

Labs of the future thrive on diversity and creativity, fostering inclusivity to drive innovation. This design approach on Armata is a promise to accelerate scientific progress by encouraging ongoing collaboration and creating a conducive environment for groundbreaking discoveries.
